Rabat- Rabat will host a high-level discussion on the theme“Jerusalem: A Symbol of a Universal Narrative of Peace” on Monday and Tuesday, 22–23 June 2026. The event isorganized by the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency (BMAQ) in partnership with the Academy of the Kingdom of Moroccoand the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication – Communication Department. It will bring together the ministers responsible for media in the Kingdom of Moroccoand the State of Palestine, alongside Assistant Secretaries-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the League of Arab States, as well as representatives of Arabprofessional federations, experts, and academics.
The discussion is being organized pursuant to the resolutionadopted on 26 November 2025 by the 55th session of the Council of Arab Information Ministers designating Rabat as the Arab Media Capital for 2026, with a special focus on activities and events dedicated to Jerusalem. It also reflects the role played by the Kingdom of Morocco, under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, in promoting dialogue on issues of humanitarian and civilizational significance, foremost amongthem the question of Jerusalem and Palestine.
This gathering is driven by a vision to amplify the Palestiniannarrative through historical, legal, and humanitarian realities, while reinforcing its visibility across Arab and international media through a credible and professional discourse capable of engaging global public opinion. It also seeks to showcasepractical experiences that have demonstrated the potential for building bridges among all parties, while upholding the Palestinians’ inalienable and legitimate rights.
. Bringing together media officials, experts, academics, and media professionals, the discussion aims to develop more effective media strategies for addressing issues related to Jerusalem. These approaches will be grounded in documentation, knowledge, and human-centered storytelling, while adapting to rapid digital transformations, therebystrengthening the reach and impact of the Palestinian narrative in the global media landscape..
The discussion will be structured around three sessions. The first day, hosted at the Academy of the Kingdom of Morocco, will gather ministers, representatives of Arab and Islamicorganizations, accredited Arab diplomats, heads of participating Arab professional federations, and representatives of journalists’ unions from Morocco and Palestine. The second day will feature an interactive session atthe BMAQ headquarters, bringing together a distinguishedgroup of academics and experts from diverse fields.
The organizers aim to develop a comprehensive frameworkfor a reference document that consolidates terms and concepts currently scattered across different contexts. The goal is to produce professional, human-centered content with global reach, highlighting Jerusalem’s civilizational and humanitariandepth while advancing Arab media approaches in response to regional transformations. These efforts seek to strengthen the presence of the Palestinian narrative within international media institutions, think tanks, and decision-making circles.
