Jerusalem- The preparatory activities for the 16th edition of the “Harat al-Maghariba” summer camp for Jerusalem children concluded on Saturday in Jerusalem. Hosted annually by the Kingdom of Morocco under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, the event was attended by officials from the Jerusalem Directorate of Education and the families of the participating children.
Organized by the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency (BMAQ) in partnership with the Ministry of Youth, Culture, and Communication – Youth Sector, the camp runs from August 10 to 26, 2025. It blends recreation, educational trips, and cultural exchange between Palestinian and Moroccan children.
Fifty children aged 11 to 14 were selected from 450 applicants by a committee of education officials, social workers, and specialists, who will accompany them to Morocco for this unique experience.
The official program begins on Tuesday, August 12, with the launch of the summer school under the theme “Let’s Make Electronic Games a Tool for Education, Learning, and Entertainment.” It will feature interactive workshops and practical applications led by experts in safety education, artificial intelligence, and responsible electronic gaming.
The program also includes artistic and sports competitions, sightseeing in Casablanca, Rabat, Tangier, Tetouan, M’diq, and Chefchaouen, as well as visits to historical landmarks and major infrastructure and sports projects across the Kingdom.
As in previous years, the children of Jerusalem will join Moroccans in celebrating national holidays during their stay, performing selected artistic pieces that include the Moroccan national anthem and excerpts from the song “Nidaa Al-Hassan” (The Call of Hassan), accompanied by choreographed scenes inspired by Palestinian heritage and the traditional Dabke dance.
