Jerusalem – In northwest Jerusalem, a small square in Biddu was transformed into an open-air clinic, where residents gathered from early morning for medical examinations and consultations.
The Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency (BMAQ) continued its field medical campaigns, reaching Bedouin communities and remote villages in the Jerusalem Governorate as part of its annual social assistance program for Ramadan 1447 AH.
The campaign arrived in Biddu after covering Al-Khan Al-Ahmar, Al-Jahalin, Al-Muntar, Beit Anan, Jaba’, Al-Sawahra, Qatanna, Qalandia Camp, Beit Hanina Al-Balad, and Al-Qubeiba in recent days, in collaboration with Astra Lab Laboratories.
Amal Hussein Abu Eid, a resident of Biddu, said she “rushed to the medical center after hearing from neighbors about a medical day attended by several doctors,” adding that the initiative “provides many residents, living under difficult economic conditions, with essential medical services.”
The campaign offered a wide range of services, including laboratory tests via a mobile laboratory and specialized consultations in internal medicine, pediatrics, and ophthalmology.
Former Mayor of Biddu, Salem Abu Eid, noted that “organizing this campaign reflects the humanitarian dimension of BMAQ’s initiatives, especially in remote areas and Bedouin communities.” He emphasized that the Agency remains committed to supporting vulnerable families and alleviating their suffering amid challenging economic and living conditions.
Dr. Dalia Jaradat, Director of Astra Lab Laboratories, explained that the campaigns aim to reach communities with limited access to healthcare. The medical teams focused on early disease detection in children, monitoring internal conditions in adults, and conducting vision tests.
Residents of villages and Bedouin communities around Jerusalem face challenges beyond shortages of medicines and equipment, including weak health infrastructure, limited medical staff, and difficulty accessing hospitals and clinics.
BMAQ’s campaigns help ease residents’ suffering, provide essential healthcare, and strengthen families’ ability to remain on their land despite ongoing pressures.
In December 2025, BMAQ, affiliated with the Al-Quds Committee chaired by King Mohammed VI, equipped twenty primary healthcare points across several villages, including Wadi Abu Hindi, Al-Khan Al-Ahmar, Bedou Al-Khalil, Al-Muntar, Jaba’, and Mikhmas, while also supporting local schools with educational supplies and digital tools.
