Rabat – The Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency (BMAQ) has recently released Issue No. 33 of the “Echoes from the Al-Quds Committee” periodical, in both Arabic and English.
The cover story of this issue is dedicated to celebrating the special status enjoyed by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, among the Palestinian people, as a leader of unity and a symbol of freedom, justice, and peace.
The new issue also recalls the Royal Message addressed by His Majesty the King to Mr. Koli Sek, Chair of the United Nations Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People, on the occasion of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, observed last year on November 25. In this message, His Majesty emphasized that “a just, lasting solution to the Palestinian issue cannot be achieved without addressing the question of Jerusalem in a serious and responsible manner, given the particular symbolism of the City.”
In the editorial of this issue, Mr. Mohamed Salem Echarkaoui, BMAQ Director, noted that November 6, 2025, marks the 50th anniversary of the Green March, during which 350,000 Moroccans participated in liberating their Sahara from Spanish colonial rule. The same year also marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the Al-Quds Committee.
Mr. Echarkaoui emphasized that these two events embody the core values of the Kingdom of Morocco and its leader, His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Commander of the Faithful, who remains faithful to the legacy of his father, the late King Hassan II, and that of his illustrious forefathers, in strengthening Moroccans’ enduring attachment to Palestine and their deep-rooted commitment to Al-Quds Asharif and its blessed mosque.
The editorial further explained that “it is therefore understandable how the Kingdom of Morocco elevates the Palestinian cause to the rank of the foremost national cause—a choice stemming from His Majesty’s sincere commitment to mobilize the country’s resources to defend Jerusalem and its Arab and Islamic holy sites, and to support the Palestinian cause at all levels and across all fronts.”
He added: “By returning to the meanings of liberation and unity embodied in the Moroccans’ struggle for national independence and the liberation of their territories, we read in this Royal Message the same faith that guides the noble Sovereign in hoping that the Palestinian people’s long journey toward freedom and independence will be crowned by seizing the opportunities and potential of this pivotal moment, through ‘continued regional and international mobilization to ensure the implementation of all the provisions of this agreement and progress through all its stages. In line with its peace-supporting approach, the Kingdom of Morocco reaffirms its full readiness to make an effective contribution at all the agreed stages and tracks within this framework.’”
In addition to its regular sections, this edition features a special dossier highlighting the technical and institutional support provided by BMAQ to several active bodies and institutions in the city, aimed at strengthening their capacity to effectively carry out their missions and responsibilities.
The issue also features articles on BMAQ’s 2025 activity report, the Hayya platform for children and youth—an innovative and evolving digital initiative—community-based human development programs, and the Agency’s role in strengthening the performance and efficiency of Jerusalem-based institutions.
Finally, the issue includes coverage of various activities carried out by the Agency during the final three months of the previous year.
