Cairo – Arab foreign ministers, during the 164th session of the Council of the League of Arab States at ministerial level, held today, Thursday, in Cairo, were briefed on the projects and initiatives of the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency (BMAQ), the executive arm of the Al-Quds Committee chaired by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, across various fields to support Palestinians and their institutions in Jerusalem.
In this context, the League’s General Secretariat circulated a booklet issued by BMAQ showcasing the Agency’s projects and programs, carried out under the guidance of His Majesty the King, spanning social, cultural, educational, and economic fields to strengthen the resilience of Jerusalem’s residents.
In keeping with the Al-Quds Committee’s approach, led by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, which unites political, diplomatic, and humanitarian efforts, BMAQ continues under His Majesty’s guidance to uphold its commitments to the Palestinian people of Jerusalem and their institutions in all circumstances.
Since the outbreak of the war on Gaza, following the events of October 7, 2023, the Agency has sustained its on-the-ground efforts despite severe security conditions and military restrictions that cut off the Holy City from its surroundings and curbed the movement of workers, goods, and tourists—straining an economy dependent on labor tied to the Israeli market, trade, and tourism.
Between January 2024 and June 2025, the Agency implemented social and humanitarian projects worth 6 million US dollars, spanning social assistance for vulnerable groups, human development initiatives to empower families and women-led associations, and support for education, health, and housing. The programs also targeted children and youth, culture, arts, and cultural industries, while safeguarding heritage and the Arab-Islamic identity of the Holy City.
During this period, the Agency launched its 2024–2027 Digital Strategy, featuring the BMAQ BINHUB incubator for Jerusalem youth innovation projects, the “Bayt Al-Maghrib” platform to document and archive the city’s heritage, the “Hayya” app for children and adolescents to promote the values of Al-Quds, and the “Dlala” e-marketing platform for Palestinian products, along with a distance learning platform developed in partnership with Al-Quds University.
In line with the Royal Instructions of HM King Mohammed VI to support the Palestinian population in Gaza, the Agency exceptionally allocated 1 million US dollars during this period to strengthen the education system through Al-Azhar University and King Hassan II Faculty, providing cloud servers for files, data, and coursework, along with a distance learning platform to preserve what could be salvaged of the academic process.
Additionally, during the 2024–2025 academic year, eight students from King Hassan II Faculty in Gaza continued their studies at the Hassan II Institute of Agronomy and Veterinary Medicine in Rabat, supported by scholarships from BMAQ in veterinary medicine and animal production.
