Nabi Samuel Village – The Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency (BMAQ) inaugurated today, Sunday, the schoolbag distribution campaign in Nabi Samuel village, northwest of Jerusalem, through a symbolic ceremony celebrating the opening of the 2025–2026 academic year.
The initiative aims to benefit 2,300 students across Jerusalem schools, with a budget of 125,000 US dollars provided by Moroccan institutions. At today’s event in Nabi Samuel village, 150 children received their new schoolbags from the Agency’s Jerusalem team, in an atmosphere marked by solidarity and mutual support.
This initiative forms part of BMAQ’s ongoing efforts to ease the burden on underprivileged Jerusalemite families and to provide the necessary conditions for improving the educational environment of the city’s children.
This humanitarian and social gesture carries a clear message that BMAQ “continues to stand with Palestinians of all backgrounds, in times of hardship as well as in times of prosperity.”
On this occasion, Mrs. Nawal Barakat, President of the Nabi Samuel Association, expressed heartfelt thanks to His Majesty King Mohammed VI, stressing that he “remains a steadfast supporter of the people of Jerusalem, especially the marginalized families of this village, who live with neglect, isolation, and limited resources.”
Mrs. Barakat further noted that the villagers “deeply appreciate the generosity of BMAQ toward Nabi Samuel, which encompasses both psychological and material support and is crowned today by the distribution of schoolbags and essential supplies to students at the outset of the academic year.”
Speaking at the event, Ismail Ramli, BMAQ’s project coordinator in Jerusalem, said: “Amid the challenging circumstances facing Jerusalem and its surrounding villages, we have launched the schoolbag distribution campaign today to support the city’s schools.”
Ramli emphasized that this initiative includes providing students with schoolbags equipped with the necessary stationery, educational tools, and pedagogical resources that support their learning and academic progress.
