Rabat – Fifty boys and girls from Jerusalem arrived in Casablanca on Monday morning to join the 16th edition of the summer camp for Jerusalem’s children. This year’s “Harat al-Maghariba” edition is organized by the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Acharif Agency (BMAQ) under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee.
According to a statement from BMAQ, the edition’s official program will kick off tomorrow, Tuesday, with the launch of a summer school organized by the Agency for Moroccan and Palestinian children, held under the theme: “Let’s Make Electronic Games a Tool for Education, Learning, and Entertainment.”
The activities will be led by experts specializing in protection awareness, artificial intelligence, and responsible, regulated electronic gaming, delivered through interactive workshops and hands-on applications.
Running from August 10 to 26, the edition is organized in partnership with the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication – Youth Sector, and blends recreation and entertainment with educational trips, training activities, and networking opportunities between Palestinian children and their Moroccan peers.
This year’s program features artistic and sports competitions pitting Jerusalem’s children against their Moroccan counterparts, along with sightseeing tours to Casablanca, Rabat, Tangier, Tetouan, M’diq, and Chefchaouen. These visits will allow participants to discover historical landmarks and gain insight into major economic projects across the Kingdom, including infrastructure, road networks, and large-scale sports facilities.
As in previous years, Jerusalem’s children are eager to share in Morocco’s national celebrations that coincide with their stay, presenting selected artistic performances featuring the Moroccan national anthem and excerpts from the song “Nidae Al Hassan” (Call of Hassan), accompanied by choreographed pieces inspired by Palestinian heritage and the traditional Dabke dance.
