Gaza – On Wednesday, the relief teams of the Irtiqa Association for Community Development in Gaza completed the distribution of 500 food baskets to the most vulnerable families in several areas of the Gaza Strip. The initiative was launched by the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency (BMAQ), under the Al-Quds Committee chaired by HM King Mohammed VI.
This operation, carried out in stages, was funded by the Moroccan Association for the Support of Reconstruction in Palestine, with contributions from the Moroccan-Palestinian Solidarity Association. It targeted displaced families in the Mawasi area of Khan Younis, the central governorate, central camps, as well as Gaza City.
Demonstrating Morocco’s enduring solidarity—both governmental and popular—with the Palestinian people, this intervention aims to provide essential food support to the most disadvantaged families and help mitigate the harsh realities they endure in Gaza.
As part of its continued humanitarian efforts, BMAQ allocated the first portion of funding in May for a prosthetics project that assisted 23 amputee children in Gaza. The project was coordinated with the Palestinian Ministry of Social Development in Ramallah and received support from the Kingdom of Morocco’s Ministry of Solidarity, Social Integration, and the Family.
BMAQ also supported the educational system in Gaza by providing cloud servers and a distance learning platform for Al-Azhar University. Additionally, it allocated registration grants for the new academic term for students of the King Hassan II Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, affiliated with the university, and welcomed eight of these students to continue their studies at the Hassan II Institute of Agronomy and Veterinary Medicine in Rabat.
In parallel with its health-focused initiatives, BMAQ also extended its support to the educational sector in Gaza by providing cloud servers and a distance learning platform for Al-Azhar University. Additionally, it allocated registration grants for the new academic term for students of the King Hassan II Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, affiliated with the university, and welcomed eight of them to continue their studies at the Hassan II Institute of Agronomy and Veterinary Medicine in Rabat.
