On the occasion of the blessed Laylatu Al Quds, Bayt Mal Al Quds Asharif Agency, an offshoot of Al Quds Committee, chaired by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, presented the balance sheet of its activities during the holy month of Ramadan, particularly the social events program and the social assistance operation, worth a budget of 250,000 dollars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During this year, the Agency has succeeded in lighting up Al Quds lamps, with funds from the Kingdom of Morocco and a contribution of the association of the Moroccan cultural center in Al Quds \u2013Bayt Al Maghrib-. The operation cost a total of 100,000 US dollars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The social events program encompasses financing the Ramadan lamps-lighting up operation from the ancient city and Burj Allaqlaq to Salouane, Wadi Al-Jouz, then Issawyia to Bayt Hanina, Chaafat, Jabal Mukaber. The operation, meant to revive the Palestinian legacy, featured Ramadan evenings, religious chanting, lectures, as well as special events for children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Agency\u2019s program for the Ramadan also included launching the social assistance program for needy persons, for an amount of 100,000 US Dollars. Aid was distributed to around 1,000 families, including 124 families of sponsored orphans and 500 needy families, recipients of 6 social institutions and charities, 131 guards of Al Quds schools and 80 families that were classified as being in a vulnerable situation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The list of recipients was established by social specialists from the Agency\u2019s \u201cArribat\u201d follow-up, monitoring and assessment observatory, according to strict criteria under the supervision of the office in charge of coordination the Agency\u2019s programs and projects in the holy city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Agency\u2019s coordinator in Al Quds Ismael Rmili noted that \u201cthe social events programs is part of the celebrations of Ramadan and means to revive the social culture and traditions in this city so that they remain rooted in society\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On its part, the head of the administrative body of the women\u2019s Attawri center in Salouane, Abir Ziad, stressed that \u201cthe program contributes to entertain the inhabitants of Al Quds and helps perpetuate life in the holy city, incarnating Al Quds identity and civilization\u201d. She also described the actions undertaken by the agency in Al Quds as \u201cgenuine support \u2026 the city of Al Quds needs the support of Moroccans who have been since the era of Salah Eddine part and parcel of Palestine and Al Quds\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The president of Shaafat club, Iyad Awdat Allah, expressed recognition for the program sponsored by the Moroccan cultural center in 10 neighborhoods of Al Quds, noting that \u201cthis type of program puts a smile and happiness among children\u201d. The club member, Bassel Abed, underscored that \u201cthe Ramadan evenings program has left a special stamp as it moved throughout Al Quds neighborhoods\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On his part, the executive director of the African community association in Al Quds, Moussa Qaws, called the program \u201cvital\u201d, stressing that \u201cit contributes to alleviating the pain, suffering and psychological pressures of the holy city inhabitants\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For Fadi Mattour, from the Wadi Al Jawz charity association, \u201cthis program contributes to preserving the cultural identity in Al Quds by engraining the Al Quds population traditions, such as lighting up the Ramadan lantern and the Messaharati, for the coming generations, knowing that Al Quds identity is Arabic-Islamic\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meanwhile, the 2nd<\/sup> meeting of persons in a situation of handicap was held on April 12, proclaimed by the Agency as the day of support to this category of people.
