United Nations (New York) \u2014 Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita said on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, before the UN General Assembly that the Palestinian cause remains a \u201cconstant priority\u201d of Morocco\u2019s foreign policy, rooted in its belief in the justice of the cause and its central importance to achieving peace and stability in the Middle East.
\nIn remarks delivered on behalf of Morocco during the general debate of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly, Bourita said Morocco, under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, believes that lasting peace in the Middle East depends on the establishment of an independent, sovereign and viable Palestinian state on the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, living side by side with Israel in peace and security.
\nThe minister, who is heading Morocco\u2019s delegation to the 81st session of the UN General Assembly, said that, in light of the Palestinian people\u2019s continued suffering, Morocco reaffirms its call for the ceasefire in Gaza to be upheld and for sufficient humanitarian assistance to reach the Strip without obstruction or interruption.
\nBourita also expressed Morocco\u2019s deep concern over unilateral Israeli measures and repeated violations of the sanctity of Al-Aqsa Mosque, describing them as \u201cserious violations that contribute to fuelling extremism and hate speech at the expense of reason and restraint.\u201d
\nBourita concluded by stressing that HM King Mohammed VI, in his capacity as Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, continues to work to preserve the Holy City\u2019s historical, cultural and spiritual identity and its legal status, while improving the living conditions of Jerusalemites through a combination of political and diplomatic efforts and programmes implemented on the ground by the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency, the Committee\u2019s executive arm.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
