Amman – Abdullah Kanaan, Secretary-General of the Royal Commission for Jerusalem Affairs (RCJA), praised in Amman on Wednesday the efforts of the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency (BMAQ) in serving Jerusalem and Palestine and strengthening the resilience of Jerusalemites.<\/p>\n
During his meeting with Mohamed Salem Echarkaoui, Director of BMAQ, Kanaan highlighted the Hashemite Custodianship\u2019s special attention to Jerusalem and its Islamic and Christian holy sites, stressing the importance of complementarity among the various actors supporting the city.
\nHe also pointed to several Jordanian governmental and civil institutions engaged in reinforcing the resilience of Jerusalemites and safeguarding their rights, through a coordinated and complementary framework that respects the mandate of each actor while amplifying the impact of their interventions.
\nFor his part, Mr. Echarkaoui reviewed the Agency\u2019s key interventions in Jerusalem in social and service-related fields, under the direct supervision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee.
\nHe emphasized the importance of documentation, research, and memory-preservation institutions in strengthening the presence of the authentic Palestinian narrative and safeguarding the Arab and Islamic civilizational identity of the Holy City.
\nHe also outlined the work of the \u201cArribat\u201d Monitoring and Evaluation Observatory in Jerusalem, the Bayt Al-Maqdis Center for Research and Studies in Rabat, and the Chair of Moroccan Studies at Al-Quds University, highlighting them as knowledge-based platforms that contribute to documenting and academically tracking the realities of Jerusalem.
\nAt the end of the meeting, both sides agreed on the need to strengthen coordination in areas of shared interest, particularly in producing reports on Jerusalem\u2019s economic and social conditions, as well as in documentation, archiving, and library work, alongside enhancing media efforts to raise awareness of the Jerusalem cause and defend it across international forums.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
