Jerusalem – The Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency (BMAQ), affiliated with the Al-Quds Committee chaired by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, launched on Saturday in Jerusalem its annual social assistance campaign on the eve of the holy month of Ramadan for the year 1447 AH, in the presence of the Agency\u2019s Director, Dr.Mohamed Salem Echarkaoui.
\nThis year\u2019s campaign program includes the distribution of 5,000 food parcels to needy Palestinian families in the city and in villages across Jerusalem Governorate, as well as 20,000 daily iftar meals provided at several community kitchens and social centers.
\nThe program also provides Eid al-Fitr clothing for 500 orphans supported by the Agency, along with medical outreach campaigns, religious chanting and Qur\u2019an recitation events, and evenings of remembrance and charity. In addition, it offers training programs for Palestinian associations focused on marketing skills and human development initiatives.
\nMr. Echarkaoui also oversaw the launch of the \u201cMoroccan Traditional Crafts Training Week\u201d at the Al-Aliya Foundation building in Beit Hanina, held within the framework of the Agency\u2019s \u201cCommunity Initiatives for Human Development in Jerusalem\u201d program.
\nThe training week is led by a select group of Moroccan master artisans specializing in textile arts, wood carving, and silverwork, with the aim of passing on Morocco\u2019s rich craftsmanship traditions to Jerusalemite artisans and young people interested in heritage trades.
\nThe program combines hands-on practical training with theoretical sessions focused on enhancing craft products and elevating quality standards.
\nThis training week is especially significant in equipping Jerusalemite artisans with high-value specialized skills, strengthening the competitiveness of their products, creating sustainable sources of income for local families, and fostering networking opportunities with Moroccan craftsmen to benefit from leading expertise in cultural heritage valorization.
\nMeanwhile, Mr. Echarkaoui, accompanied by Ali Shqairat, Director of the Al-Eizariya Chamber of Commerce branch, Ihab Al-Barghouthi, Director General of the Palestinian Shippers Council, and Board Member Wael Hijazi, attended the closing ceremony of the first training course on \u201cProfessional Competence in Import and Export,\u201d organized under the agreement signed in Jerusalem between BMAQ and the Chamber of Commerce on December 24, 2025.
\nOn this occasion, Mr. Echarkaoui presented participation certificates to trainees who had completed training on economic empowerment mechanisms, with a focus on value chain and production concepts, logistics management, and practical procedures for accessing global markets.
\nParticipants commended the training for its role in strengthening their skills and enhancing their competitiveness in import and export, as well as in modernizing their work practices in line with advanced professional standards.
\nThis initiative forms part of BMAQ\u2019s strategy to support Jerusalem\u2019s trade sector, built on three pillars: e-marketing via the \u201cDlala\u201d platform, technical support and training, and innovation support through the \u201cBMAQ Innovation Hub.\u201d Its goal is to integrate Jerusalem\u2019s economy into modern value chains and ensure the sustainability of emerging projects.
