Rabat- The Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency (BMAQ) announced on Tuesday in Rabat the launch of its 2025\u20132026 social and economic season in Jerusalem under the theme \u201cHuman Development, a Pillar of\u00a0 Resilience.\u201d The event was attended by ambassadors of several Arab countries and members of the diplomatic corps accredited to the Kingdom of Morocco.<\/p>\n

\nMohamed Salem Echarkaoui, Director of BMAQ, explained in his speech that, since the beginning of the week, the Agency has begun implementing a series of small-scale support projects for families across several camps and villages in the Jerusalem governorate \u2014 including Qalandia, Al-Eizariya, Abu Dis, and towns in the northwest of the governorate. These initiatives span livestock and dairy farming, cheese and milk production, confectionery, sewing, embroidery, beauty and wedding supplies, as well as the equipping of multi-purpose kiosks.<\/p>\n

He noted that BMAQ teams also provided Jerusalemite farmers with olive-harvesting equipment as part of the annual \u201cAwna\u201d Olive Harvest Campaign. This effort underscores the Agency\u2019s ongoing dedication to supporting Palestinian farmers through the \u201cSumud\u201d (Steadfastness) program, carried out in collaboration with the Palestinian Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Jerusalem, the Jerusalem Governorate, and the Land Research Center.<\/p>\n

Mr. Echarkaoui emphasized that, despite challenging circumstances, BMAQ \u2014 affiliated with the Al-Quds Committee \u2014 has remained steadfast in its mission to provide all possible support, within its financial capacity, to individuals and institutions in Jerusalem, selected areas of the West Bank, and the Gaza Strip. He highlighted that the Agency successfully executed projects totaling USD 6.5 million between October 7, 2023, and June 30, 2025, in line with its annual action plan.<\/p>\n

He also highlighted BMAQ\u2019s participation in Morocco\u2019s relief efforts for the people of Gaza, launching key initiatives that will benefit 300 child amputees \u2014 victims of aggression \u2014 and around 500 orphans who lost both parents. The Agency also supported educational structures and mental health services.<\/p>\n

For his part, the Ambassador of Palestine to Morocco, Jamal Al-Shobaki, commended \u201cthe vital role played by BMAQ under the esteemed guidance of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, who consistently emphasizes the importance of supporting the steadfastness of Jerusalemites and reinforcing their presence in their city.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mr. Al-Shobaki further noted that these efforts are part of a field-based social and economic plan aimed at empowering city residents and supporting farmers and professionals through tangible development initiatives.<\/p>\n

\nOn the occasion of the launch of the 2025\u20132026 social and economic season in Jerusalem, a financing agreement was signed between the Moroccan Association for the Support of Reconstruction in Palestine (MASRP) and BMAQ to fund several projects, with a total budget of 6 million Moroccan dirhams.<\/p>\n

In his address, Mohamed Jamal Bouzidi, President of (MASRP) , stated that the signing of this agreement reflects Morocco\u2019s continuous support for the brotherly Palestinian people. He emphasized that financing these new development and humanitarian projects aims to support the resilience of Palestinians on their land, empower vulnerable groups, and strengthen living conditions in Jerusalem and the Gaza Strip.<\/p>\n

The agreement covers funding for a range of initiatives, including income-generating projects for vulnerable groups, support for olive harvesting in Jerusalem villages to assist farmers, distribution of food baskets in the Gaza Strip, an educational program for children in Gaza, the establishment of a camp for displaced persons of Moroccan origin or nationality in the Strip, and emergency interventions to address skin diseases in displacement centers in Gaza.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
