The discussion explored strategies to deepen awareness of Moroccan cultural heritage across Palestine and the Levant, with contributions from prominent Moroccan and Palestinian scholars and writers.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"s5\"><span class=\"s6\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">On this occasion, <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s6\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">Mr.<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s6\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">Mohamed Salem Echarkaoui, the director \u00a0managing BMAQ, <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s6\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">emphasized that the seminar seeks to spotlight the contributions of specialized researchers in showcasing the richness of Moroccan culture in Palestine and the Levant\u2014across literature, the arts, heritage, and history, and the values and knowledge it embodies<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"s5\"><a name=\"_GoBack\"><\/a><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">Echarkaoui underscored that this cultural presence is deeply rooted in history, as evidenced by the contributions of Moroccan pilgrims, travelers, and scholars who passed through or settled in Jerusalem over the centuries.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"s5\"><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">For her part, Safaa Nassereddine, Chair of Moroccan Studies at Al-Quds University, emphasized that the academic chair aspires to function as a lasting scholarly bridge between Rabat and Jerusalem. She noted that it extends beyond the scope of a conventional research unit, positioning itself as a civilizational initiative that embodies Morocco\u2019s strategic vision\u2014one deeply rooted in the enduring cultural and human ties between the Moroccan and Palestinian peoples.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"s7\">In this context, Nassereddine conveyed her profound gratitude to HM King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, for his direct patronage of the project through BMAQ . She affirmed that this support reflects the depth of the King\u2019s far-reaching vision\u2014one that places knowledge at the core of efforts to safeguard historical memory.<\/p>\n<p class=\"s5\"><span class=\"s6\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">She added that the academic chair serves as a <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">&#8220;radiant window into the Moroccan presence within the fabric of Jerusalem&#8221;<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s6\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">, and strengthens the role of know<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s6\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">ledge in conf<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s6\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">ronting attempts to reduce and <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s6\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">erase this presence<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s6\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">, through <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">rigorous academic research<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s6\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\"> that produces <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">contemporary insights<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s6\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\"> into the impact of Moroccan culture within its Eastern surroundings.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"s5\"><span class=\"s6\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">For his part, <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">Mashhour Habazi<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s6\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">, former Dean of the Faculty of Arts at Al-Quds University, emphasized that <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">Moroccan-Palestinian relations are deeply rooted in history<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s6\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">, and continue to be renewed thanks to the efforts of the <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">BMAQ<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s6\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">, not only in the cultural field, but also across various fields of knowledge.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"s5\"><span class=\"s6\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">Habazi commended the role played by <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">BMAQ<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s6\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\"> in strengthening <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">Moroccan-Palestinian relations<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s6\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">, adding, <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s8\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">&#8220;<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s6\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">We greatly value this significant role that Morocco\u2014its King, government, and people\u2014plays in supporting Palestine and Jerusalem<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s6\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">.&#8221;<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"s5\"><span class=\"s6\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">For his part, <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">Walid Sharafa<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s6\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">, novelist and professor of higher education at Al-Quds University, presented a <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">literary reflection on the depth of Palestinian-Moroccan relations<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s6\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">, which is primarily embodied in the <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">firm awareness of the historical role<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s6\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\"> played by Moroccans in Jerusalem. He noted that this legacy left <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">profound spiritual and symbolic imprints<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s6\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">, making the relationship between the two sides a <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">symbol of shared consciousness and mutual memory<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s6\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"s5\"><span class=\"s6\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">Sharafa explained that this <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">depth in relations<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s6\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\"> has contributed to the shaping of <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">popular and elite perceptions<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s6\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">, producing <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">cultural representations and a collective consciousness<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s6\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\"> that entrenched the <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">Moroccan presence in the Palestinian psyche<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s6\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">, and vice versa.
