Rabat \u2013 As part of its participation in the 30th edition of the International Book and Publishing Fair, which opened today, Thursday, and runs until April 27, the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency (BMAQ) is allocating a significant space to explore and promote knowledge of Moroccan cultural heritage\u00a0 in the Levant and the Middle East. A lineup of seminars, led by Moroccan and Palestinian historians and researchers, will bring this initiative into focus.<\/p>\n
On the sidelines of the Fair, the Agency will present the Chair of Moroccan Studies at Al-Quds University, in the presence of its Chairholder, Dr. Safa Nassereldin, along with members of its academic board, who will be officially appointed on this occasion.<\/p>\n
With the support of the Ministry of Youth, Culture, and Communication \u2013 Department of Culture, the Agency is setting up a 50-square-meter pavilion at the Fair, designed to blend elements of Moroccan and Palestinian architecture. At its center stands a model of the Dome of the Rock, serving as a symbolic expression of the deep emotional and spiritual bond that connects the people of Morocco with their brothers and sisters in the Levant.<\/p>\n
According to the statement, the “Liqa” Hall will host the main seminar on April 24 at 3:30 p.m., as part of the Agency\u2019s cultural and intellectual program for this year\u2019s edition of the Fair. The event will focus on the theme: Moroccan Presence in Jerusalem and Palestine: Toward Strengthening Knowledge of Moroccan Cultural Elements in the Levant and the Middle East.<\/p>\n
Participants in the seminar will shed light on the legacy of Morocco\u2019s historical presence in Jerusalem and Palestine, and its role in embedding elements of Moroccan culture in the region. The discussion will draw from the Kingdom of Morocco\u2019s core values and civilizational heritage\u2014rooted in the principles of unity, freedom, justice, and peace\u2014with contributions from Palestinian scholars.<\/p>\n
On another note, the \u201cUfuq\u201d Hall will host, on April 26 at 3:30 p.m., the award ceremony for the sixth edition of the \u201cColors of Al-Quds\u201d Prize, aimed at school students in Morocco and Jerusalem. This year\u2019s edition was organized by BMAQ in collaboration with the Regional Academy of Education and Training of the Marrakech-Safi Region.<\/p>\n
In addition, the Agency\u2019s pavilion will host a variety of activities throughout the Fair\u2019s opening hours, catering to both adults and children.
