As part of the ongoing “Awna 2024” olive harvest campaign in Jerusalem, the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency (BMAQ), in collaboration with the Jerusalem Governorate and the village council of Nabi Samwil, organized an educational workshop on the virtues of the olive tree for the village school’s children.<\/p>\n
The participating children enjoyed engaging lessons on the blessings and nutritional value of the olive tree before heading to the village farms to take part in the olive harvest. This enriching program seamlessly combined education with hands-on experience.<\/p>\n
These activities resonate with the Agency’s mission to preserve Jerusalem’s cultural heritage, as they foster a strong connection to the land in younger generations while promoting ecological balance. Representing generosity and abundance, the olive tree serves as a living symbol of these values, embodying the deep-rooted ties between heritage, nature, and community..<\/p>\n
At the conclusion of the workshop, the Agency offered meals, sweets, and a variety of gifts to the children and participants. Additionally, it donated sewing and workshop equipment to the Nabi Samwil Association, the village\u2019s sole organization dedicated to supporting local children and their families.<\/p>\n
In appreciation of these efforts, Nawal Barakat, head of the association, presented a plaque of recognition to the BMAQ Agency, acknowledging the support of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, and Morocco\u2019s commitment to the Agency\u2019s work and programs throughout Jerusalem, including Nabi Samwil.<\/p>\n
This year\u2019s olive harvest campaign, implemented by BMAQ for the third consecutive year in partnership with the Jerusalem Governorate, aims to support approximately 1,800 farmers across 30 villages in the governorate.<\/p>\n
